It's not just as easy as putting on a mask.
As the nation focuses on how to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) took to Twitter to remind us all how to wear a face mask. In order for a face covering to be effective, it must be worn properly so that it covers both your mouth and your nose.
Here, the CDC goes into more detail about the right way to wear a mask for prevention.
Wearing a cloth face covering correctly can help prevent the spread of #COVID19 to others. When you go out on essential trips, follow these “do’s”. If you have a child, remember those under age 2 should not wear a face covering. See https://t.co/lxWMe4NUBD. pic.twitter.com/tIDUpq6mBO

There are some easy things you can do to make a mask more bearable. Try dabbing a smudge of essential oil on the bottom seam of your mask. Go easy, just a tiny bit of an uplifting scent like lemon, peppermint, or eucalyptus will do the trick.
Another thing you can do is experiment with different types of masks. You may find that a disposable, pleated mask is more comfortable when you mold it into a cup shape before putting it on.
By now, most of us have seen various tutorials on how to make your own, and this simple bandana version is easily customized to fit any face.

If your mask is pulling on your ears or making them sore, you may need to adjust the elastic ear loops or try something like a mask extender.
None of my masks fit my small head, so I 3d printed this "ear saver" thing from a thingiverse file. I had to trim the 3rd hook on both sides, because, again, small head. A friend made a similar thing out of crochet and buttons. pic.twitter.com/fWDS9d6kWH
