He died suddenly following a brain aneurysm.

Grant Imahara, of Discovery's Mythbusters and Netflix's White Rabbit Project, has died. He was 49.

An electrical engineer and roboticist, Imahara suffered a sudden brain aneurysm, according to reports.

"We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family," a representative for Discovery said in a statement.

Imahara's former Mythbusters co-hosts Tory Belleci and Kari Byron reacted to the news of their friend's death on social media.

In a follow-up tweet, Byron shared a series of photos of Imahara, saying, "Heartbroken and in shock tonight. We were just talking on the phone. This isn't real."

Imahara, Belleci, and Byron made up "The Build Team" or "B Team" on the popular Discovery series. The trio left Mythbusters in 2014 before teaming up again in 2016 for Netflix's White Rabbit Project.

Before he joined the Mythbusters team, Imahara studied electrical engineering at the University of Southern California. He also did animatronics for Lucasfilm, working on big blockbuster movies, including Terminator 3: Rise of the MachinesThe Lost World: Jurassic Park, the Star Wars prequels, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Van Helsing, and more.
