If it has less than 40,000 residents and a picturesque Main Street, your hometown could be just what HGTV needs for their new makeover show.

The next brainchild of Home and Garden Television (HGTV) involves updating an entire small town, and they're taking applications right now! You have until February 7 to submit applications online, so get to it.

HGTV hosts Ben and Erin Napier of the show Home Town will be working to transform the chosen location. The new series will be called Hometown Takeover, and it will chronicle the complete transformation of one lucky small town in America.

The criteria to be considered for the new show is pretty straightforward:

  • The town must have under 40,000 residents.
  • Architecture around town must be interesting and film well.
  • The main street in town (or a central location) should need a facelift.

To throw your town's hat in the ring, head to the HGTV website and fill out the online application. You'll need to provide photos or videos of the town as well as a text response about why they should choose you. Be creative and consider a tour of the whole town if you can manage it. They'll want as much information as you can send, so don't leave anything out.

You're going to have some pretty stiff competition. Towns like Attica, Indiana, and Boonville, New York are already sharing some of their submission information on Twitter. Take a look!
