Glee's Naya Rivera, 33, went missing whilst on a boating trip with her 4-year-old son, Josey Dorsey, on Wednesday, July 8. A body had been found and recovered from the lake, and it's since been confirmed by Ventura County Sheriff's Department in a press conference on Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Bill Ayub revealed in the press conference that they are "confident" it is Naya, based on physical characteristics and clothing.

Her body is being taken to the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

Rivera had rented a pontoon boat in the afternoon around 1 p.m. last Wednesday for herself and Josey to take out onto Lake Piru. Roughly three hours later, after the boat's scheduled rental time, Rivera's son was found asleep in the boat by himself. He was wearing a life vest; an adult life vest was located on the boat.

Officials were immediately notified and quickly began the search for the missing Glee actress. Helicopters, drones, and dive teams have all been used. The sheriff's office said more than 80 people were helping in the search. Rivera's co-star and friend Heather Morris also asked the Sheriff's Department on Sunday to see if she could help with the search.

Her son had told officials that he had gone swimming with his mother, but she'd never returned to the boat.
