Have you been keeping up with "American Horror Stories?"

The second season of the AHS anthologies brings things full circle with its ties back to the Coven era. Unlike its mother ship, American Horror Story, each episode stands alone. Check out this eerie trailer:

So far, the horror themes tackled have been a larger-than-life dollhouse, a serial killer on the loose, classic hauntings, Colonial times pox-filled shenanigans, and Bloody Mary. It will be fascinating to see if they all tie into the infamous witches' academy as neatly as the previews imply.

Spoiler: you're going to want to watch most of these with the lights ON ... away from any mirrors, if you can manage it. In all seriousness, the show is rated TV-MA, and it's probably too gruesome for most kids. Even teenagers might find some of the messages a little too close to home, particularly if you have a home security system with cameras.

Fans of the show have mixed feelings about these newest episodes. The general consensus is that the first one raises the bar significantly, while Episode 4 is just plain gross. You've been warned!
