Nominate a Magic Maker who displays simple acts of kindness!

The Happiest Place on Earth wants to make someone’s day, or year, happier with a free trip. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Florida theme park resort is accepting applications for its Disney Magic Maker campaign. Fifty people will be chosen to receive this magical trip (as well as a one-year subscription to Disney+).

What exactly makes a person Magic Maker-worthy? From simple acts of kindness between neighbors, friends, and strangers to creating connections with others in the community, the qualities that set a Magic Maker apart include kindness, compassion, charity, generosity, and creativity. Any one of these qualities, along with many others, are excellent reasons for nominating a worthy recipient.

According to Disney Park’s official blog, Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks Experiences and Products said, "All of us at Disney have been inspired by the countless acts of goodwill by people across the country throughout the pandemic. These magic makers and their stories have changed us in ways we never imagined. That’s why we’re so proud to celebrate those who continue to make every day magic a reality."

Along with the 50 free trips, Disney will also donate a total of $400,000 among four non-profits that have shown resilience during the past year’s pandemic: Make-A-Wish, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and The Nature Conservancy. All of these organizations fostered inspiration in unique, innovative, and inspiring ways as they continued to serve the community during the pandemic.

The Walt Disney World Resort officially opened on October 1, 1971, with the Magic Kingdom, the first Florida theme park (Disneyland in California opened in 1955), along with Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

If you know someone who has made a positive impact or shown inspiration over the past year, nominations can be made between now and October 1, 2021. For official rules and regulations, and to nominate someone, go to DisneyMagicMakers.com. Share your nominations and stories on social media using #DisneyMagicMakers to show the rest of the world.
