If you're itching to visit Orlando soon, we've got some good news for you.

NBCUniversal has announced that it will partially reopen its CityWalk shopping and dining complex this Thursday, May 14, which has been closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Orlando park has enhanced sanitation features and placed additional signage to help comply with CDC guidelines. All visitors will have to follow social distancing guidelines and are required to wear face masks.

Select venues will operate from 4 to 10 p.m. Some of the restaurants and stores reopening include Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Voodoo Doughnuts, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Universal Studios Store, and Hollywood Drive-In Golf. Dining venues will have limited menus and tables will be spaced apart.

Venues such as Blue Man Group, the Universal Cinemark movie theater, and all nightclubs will remain temporarily closed.

Universal Guidelines and Safety Measures:

  • Visitors must wear face masks and temperature checks will be given (temperatures of 100.4 degrees and over will not be admitted)
  • Disposable masks will be available
  • Team members will wear face masks and undergo daily temperature checks
  • Limited capacity at venues and social distancing markings on the floor
  • Self-parking is free – no valet parking available

According to a statement from Universal,

“We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed. Additional venues may be added over time, and hours of operation are subject to change.”

Universal Orlando’s theme parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, and hotels will remain closed at least through May 31. Universal Studios Hollywood is also closed at this time.

In other Orlando theme park news, Walt Disney World recently announced that it will reopen the Disney Springs shopping, dining, and entertainment complex on May 20.
