If you see something suspicious or fishy happening at DIA, there's now an app to report that.
Called "See Say Airport," the new smartphone app allows passengers at DIA to report any "suspicious behavior or questionable activity" to airport authorities. This is the first airport in the country to use ELERTS, a public safety communication app, to depend on the general public for the reporting of safety and security issues.
"Safety is our number one priority, and by downloading and reporting issues through the 'See Say Airport' app, the public can take an active role in keeping the airport as safe as possible," said DIA CEO Kim Day in a statement. "We encourage anyone who visits the airport regularly to download the app and use it to communicate with airport authorities directly regarding safety and security concerns."
The app sends real-time information about potential security threats immediately and discreetly with the proper authorities through the use of photos, videos, text messages, and GPS location. Reports will then be investigated, giving authorities the opportunity to be in contact with the person who submitted the report, whether that be with follow-up questions or requests. But if you'd like to remain anonymous, you can, too.

Denver is an innovative first mover that will pave the way for airport safety and security communications -- empowering the 'crowd' -- airport employees, contractors, vendors, drivers and the traveling public -- to help combat both internal and external threats."
Versions similar to the app are currently in use by major transit systems, including the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in Boston, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in Santa Clara, and the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) in San Francisco, among a few others.
"See Say Airport" is free to download and available in the Apple App Store as well as Google Play.
And with the airport becoming busier than ever, the app couldn't have come at a better time. DIA set a new record for the first quarter of this year for passenger traffic, seeing a 14 percent increase for March 2018 in comparison to March 2017. The airport is also in the process of expanding to maintain its growing capacity -- 39 gates will be added as well as more concessions and outdoor patios, upgrades to the ticket counters and drop-off curbs, and a new train system.
