Here's a list of Instagram-worthy foodie destinations for all of your out-of-town visitors. Hopefully, they'll have a rental car, as these are all over the DMV!

We've all been there. Family and friends who are visiting for the holidays want to know where to go once they've seen all the monuments. You rack your brain for options but don't really have the time to take them anywhere because you still have a job to go to and what do they think, you can just take time off ... wait, what was I saying? If you've got foodies in the bunch, just send them this article. Each location will take at LEAST 2-3 hours if they go hungry, or more if they like exploring.

1. The Pennsylvania Dutch Market in Annapolis, MD

This indoor Amish market is FULL of delicious prepared foods, baked goods, and specialty items like pretzels and smoked meats. Must-try dishes include pig wings (they're amazing with BBQ sauce) and the fresh apple fritters. The proximity to the sights and sounds of downtown Annapolis means this visit could take all day. Visit their website for hours and a list of vendors. If your visitors head out there, also let them know about Mike's Crab House for freshly steamed blue crabs with a view.

Address: Annapolis Harbour Center at 2472 Solomon's Island Road in Annapolis, MD (to the right when you pull into the shopping center -- look for the Potbelly Sandwich Shop or picnic tables)

2. Eastern Market in D.C.

Part indoor market, part outdoor flea market and local vendors, this D.C. landmark is a must-see spot. Get a hot breakfast inside, or try a loaded half-smoke fresh off the griddle. The gourmet cheesemonger has pretty much anything you could ever need for an amazing cheese plate. The butchers also have hard-to-find cuts and artisanal sausages. Visit their website for more information including hours and special events. Or check out our article about six things to do while you're there. Don't forget to look around outside for food trucks and arts and crafts!

3. Eden Center in Falls Church, VA

Also known locally as Little Saigon, this Asian shopping center is chock full of Vietnamese bakeries, restaurants, grocery stores, and jewelry shops. Part of the fun is hunting down obscure ingredients and fresh tropical fruits. Bahn mi, pho, spring rolls, sesame balls, and bubble tea are all over the place in both takeout shops or sit-down restaurants. Go early to get parking -- it gets to be a zoo. If they go to Eden on a weekend, have your visitors try some dim sum, too!

4. Maine Avenue Fish Market in D.C.

Send a cooler, too, if you're pointing your tourists in the direction of Maine Avenue. They'll want to bring home tons of fresh seafood including crabs, local oysters, giant shrimp, and fish. Due to its proximity to The Wharf district, your guests can shop and then brainstorm recipes over a nice sit-down meal. Make sure they explore every stall at the fish market, though -- there's a cake shop that has HUGE slices of southern favorites like coconut and Red Velvet cakes. Visit the Fish Market website here.

5. Old Town Alexandria Farmers Market

This year-round outdoor market, held every Saturday morning, changes its offerings with the seasons. Vendors this winter may have fresh apples, artisanal breads, and free-range eggs and pork. Flower vendors start to bring in evergreen wreaths and decorative swags to help transform your home for the holidays. Visitors can also window-shop up and down King Street from the market in both directions. There are dozens of charming local businesses in that neighborhood. Visit their website for more information!
