Looking for a new way to scare the pants off your significant other? Head to Field of Screams for a night you won't soon forget.

Sometimes, you just need to get away from it all and have your fun on a haunted trail. If dodging serial killers and running from monsters is your thing, have I got an attraction for you! Point your car towards Olney and pack all the courage you can muster. You're going to need it.

"Field of Screams" is meant for adults, so you probably want to book a babysitter if you plan on going. Nightmare fuel will be spread out over acres of an outdoor walking trail and indoors at a makeshift slaughterhouse. If you've been there before, the 2022 version combines the former "Trail of Terror" with the "Haunted Trail."

Don't go expecting a run-of-the-mill haunted house experience. This is five frightening acres of costumed staff and jump scares. You can take it at your own pace and really immerse yourself in the creepy atmosphere, or just hang out by the food vendors while you wait for your friends. Are bonfires more your thing? They'll have those too!

Parents should use their best judgment when it comes to bringing children along, particularly if they're on the younger side. This is a decidedly scary attraction, with adult themes and costumes. You even have to sign a waiver when you buy your tickets!

Know Before You Go

  • Due to the layout of the outdoor portion, this is not a rain-or-shine attraction. You'll be held to your ticket date and time, even in inclement weather unless the entire session is canceled. Keep an eye on the Field of Screams website and Facebook page for updates if heavy rain is in the forecast.
  • Food and beverages are available for sale, but you might not want to eat right before you hit the trails... you've been warned.
  • For the 2022 season, there are NO tickets for purchase on-site. You must buy your tickets ahead of time online.
  • Dress for the weather! Even if it's nice when you leave home, it can get chilly out on the trails. When in doubt, wear layers.
  • In case you're worried about this, the trail's actors are trained to not touch guests. Accidental bumps may occur, but jump scares are what they're aiming for.

With Halloween right around the corner, this is the perfect time to see if you've got what it takes to conquer this local haunted trail. Think you have what it takes?
