Hot latkes and donuts, anyone? Join thousands of others in celebrating Chanukah this weekend at the National Menorah Lighting Ceremony!
The National Menorah Council is pleased to welcome everyone to this annual lighting ceremony on the Ellipse. Herald the start of the Chanukah season with live music from the U.S. Army Band and The Three Cantors. Dreidel men will be roaming the crowds for fun family photos, and there will be traditional holiday treats for all.
WHEN: Sunday, December 2 | 4 p.m. (gates open at 3 p.m.)
WHERE: The Ellipse, on Constitution Avenue, between 15th and 17th Streets in Washington, D.C.
TICKETS: FREE but are required for entry. Visit the event website to order tickets.
Know before you go:
- Chairs will be provided for all ticketholders. Be sure to order tickets for every single person in your party, regardless of age.
- Parking in the area is extremely limited. Get a ride or taxi in, or take Metro to Farragut North, Farragut West, or Federal Triangle.
- This is a family-friendly event! Free dreidels and menorah kits will be provided as long as supplies last.
- Bundle up! Once the sun goes down, the temperature will fall to the 50s. The forecast calls for possible morning showers, so the grassy areas may be a bit muddy.
- The National Park Service provides public restroom facilities on site.
