Fields of beautiful sunflowers await you at this annual outdoor festival.

Burnside Farms is known for its endless flower fields, and there's still time to enjoy the Summer of Sunflowers. From now until Labor Day, you can pick your own blooms and get plenty of Instagram-worthy shots. Just head to Nokesville to check it out!

Don't worry about going hungry; you can pack your own food and enjoy it in the picnic area by the barn. There may also be food vendors set up on the day you go if you're there on a weekend.

A ticket to the festival gets you through the gate and access to all of the amenities, including the petting zoo, outdoor games, picnic area, and restrooms. Once you're in, you can stay as long as you'd like until closing time. While your ticket is transferrable with notice, it's not refundable unless your session is canceled due to weather conditions.

Think about when you want to go—there are 3 sessions: morning, mid-day, and sunflower sunsets. The mid-day sessions are the most likely to be called off due to excessive heat.

Know Before You Go:

  • Parking is in an adjacent open field, so be prepared to walk, even if conditions are muddy.
  • Kids will enjoy the free petting zoo, located just beyond the closest fields.
  • In previous years, the spring tulip festival was prematurely closed due to rambunctious children pulling up and discarding flowers. Be sure to keep an eye on your little ones so that no blooms are wasted.
  • Personal photos are fine, but call ahead for commercial photography.
  • Portable restrooms are available close to the fields, and they are sanitized twice weekly.
