Minnie’s 30th-Anniversary look was designed by British designer Stella McCartney.

Disneyland Paris is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and Minnie Mouse is getting a new outfit to mark the occasion! The new look is designed by Stella McCartney. However,  it hasn’t been popular with everyone ...

For the first time ever, the second most famous Disney character is wearing a pantsuit instead of her signature polka dot dress. The tuxedo-style pantsuit is indigo blue and has large polka dots framed by stripes on the cuffs. Minnie’s trademark bow matches the color and print of the suit.

The pantsuit was revealed in a graphic on social media but will be made into an actual suit that will be worn by the Minnie character inside the park. Minnie will wear the sustainable fabric suit during March for Women’s History Month. This isn’t the first time Minnie has worn pants (she wore a sailor suit on a Disney cruise ship), but it can be seen as part of a larger statement that women don’t always have to wear feminine clothing.

Yet, people on social media are totally divided ...

It seems that most of the people complaining about the outfit on social media seemed to have missed that Minnie is keeping her signature polka-dot look and will only be wearing the pantsuit for one month. In fact, the whole Disney Paris clan will be wearing new outfits for the 30th anniversary this year at the park—the celebration attire features iridescent fabrics, rhinestone accents, and space-age design.

Disneyland Paris opened in April of 1992 and was originally called the Euro Disney Resort. It is the largest theme park in Europe and the most visited. The European park shares its anniversary with its American Cousin, Walt Disney World. The Florida resort began celebrating its 50-year anniversary last fall. The extended 18-month promotion will give fans more time to visit amid the COVID variants that keep disrupting travel around the world.
