The weather outside is frightful, but canine outerwear is delightful!

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), there are several ways to tell if your dog even needs a sweater. Shivering is the most obvious outward sign, along with faster breathing and cold ears and feet. Short-haired dogs generally get colder than their long-haired buddies, so keep an eye on them if you're in doubt.

If you're in a particularly cold region, or are taking your dog out in the snow, you may want to pair any of these options with a pair of cold weather booties. You wouldn't walk around barefoot in the winter, and neither should they!
