After nearly 40 years, the Broncos will have a new owner.

When you hear the name Bowlen, you immediately think of the Denver Broncos. Well, after 40 years, that's about to change. The Denver Broncos are now officially for sale.

The Bowlen family released a statement on the sale:

The team is valued at just under $4 billion.

"They are talking this could be the most expensive sale of a team in North America in the history of sports," Dan Price Brand Marketing Director for Adrenaline sports marketing a division of Fig Advertising said.

Several groups already formed and are interested in making formal bids for the Denver Broncos, including John Elway and Peyton Manning.

League rules state a "majority'' owner must own at least 30% of a franchise, so in a sale of $4 billion, that would mean the majority investor would have to control $1.2 billion.
