Ralph Lauren is behind Team USA's Opening Ceremony uniforms for the 2022 Bejing Olympics.
The 2022 Winter Olympics are almost here! And Team USA's Opening Ceremony uniforms have been revealed.
The uniforms were designed by Ralph Lauren, the official outfitter of Team USA, and include some pretty amazing (and sneaky!) warming technology. The jackets include a honeycomb-like fabric layer built in, which expands/contracts in response to temperature changes. All of this is done without the use of a battery or wired technology.
Ralph Lauren worked with Skyscrape on the temperature-adapting fabric.
"The development and introduction of Intelligent Insulation reimagines what is possible in the apparel landscape," Ralph Lauren's Chief Branding and Innovation Officer David Lauren said in a statement. "For the first time, you can have a singular item that provides incredible versatility and style, for a variety of temperatures, changing the way we can holistically think about the makeup of a consumer’s closet."
In addition to the jacket, Team USA athletes will be wearing an anorak, pants, gloves, and boots during the Opening Ceremony.
