He was 33.

NFL great Demaryius Thomas was found dead in his home on Thursday evening, and the news of his death has impacted NFL players and fans across the country. He was 33.

Thomas just announced his retirement from the NFL in June.

Details surrounding Thomas' death have not been released just yet, but police told family members they found Thomas in a shower at his home, according to The Associated Press.

“He had been suffering from seizures for over a year, and we believe he had a seizure when he was showering," LaTonya Bonseigneur, a first cousin who grew up with Thomas, told The AP on Friday. "We're not sure when he died. We just spoke with him yesterday."

Players and fans took to social media to pay tribute to Thomas:

Thomas played 10 seasons in the NFL, mostly with the Denver Broncos, and earned four Pro Bowl nominations and a Super Bowl ring. He was drafted by the Broncos in the first round of the 2010 draft, leaving the NFL as the Broncos’ second-leading receiver in franchise history.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Demaryius' family and friends. Rest easy, DT.
