From the Broncos' Vic Fangio to the Vikings' Mike Zimmer, here's a list of the head coaches recently fired from the NFL.

After the longest season in NFL history, several teams have decided to part ways with their head coaches and are looking for new leadership moving forward in 2022. Here's a list of the NFL head coaches who won't be returning for another season with their clubs.

Mike Zimmer, Minnesota Vikings

Mike Zimmer had a 72-56-1 record over eight seasons with the Vikings, and despite two division titles and three playoff appearances, it wasn't enough.

"While these decisions are not easy, we believe it is time for new leadership to elevate our team so we can consistently contend for championships," Vikings owners Zigi and Mark Wilf said in a statement.

General manager Rick Spielman was also fired following the regular NFL season.

Brian Flores, Miami Dolphins

Despite an 8-1 finish to the season, head coach Brian Flores was fired as the head coach of the Dolphins.

“After evaluating where we are is an organization and what we need going forward to improve, I determined that key dynamics of our football organization weren’t functioning at a level I want it to be and felt that this decision is in the best interest of the Miami Dolphins,” Ross said in a statement.

Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears

Fourth-year coach Matt Nagy was fired following the Bears' 6-11 record, along with general manager Ryan Pace.

"The day that I signed up to be the head coach here in Chicago ... you’re always understanding what comes with your position," Nagy said Sunday following a 31-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. "That’s real. That’s life. We know our record’s not good enough. You can’t run from it."

The Bears have relieved general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy of their duties.
