Other falls sports, however, are not going to start until the spring.

High school sports are back! Well, sort of. The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) recently announced that three high school sports have been cleared to start this fall.

Boys golf, boys tennis, and softball are now allowed to begin as part of CHSAA's "return-to-play" plan, which was submitted to the state's COVID-19 response team in the Governor's office. Golf had already been approved previously, with softball and boys tennis being added to the list last week.

However, not all high school sports have been given the go-ahead to start, including:

  • Cross country
  • Field hockey
  • Football
  • Gymnastics
  • Boys soccer
  • Girls volleyball
  • Spirit
  • Unified bowling

Golf's first practice can begin on August 3 and its competition date will be August 6, while softball and boys tennis can both start practice on August 10 and begin competing on August 13.

All three sports will have proper health and safety guidelines in place, as listed in their respective 2020 bulletins:
