UPDATE:
It's official, folks. Tom Brady has retired. The quarterback is done after 22 years in the NFL.

Brady took to social media on Tuesday, February 1, to express his gratitude:

"I have always believed the sport of football is an ‘all-in’ proposition – if a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there you won't’ succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game. There is a physical, mental, and emotional challenge EVERY single day that has allowed me to maximize my highest potential. And I have tried my very best these past 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life.

"This is difficult for me to write but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention," he continued.

Over the weekend, the world was caught up in some HUGE sports news: Tom Brady is retiring after 22 years in the NFL.

BUT, are those reports accurate? Is the football legend really retiring? Well, according to The Associated Press, Brady "hasn't made up his mind" yet ...

As of right now, no announcement has been made by Brady himself.

On Saturday, ESPN was the first to report Brady's retirement, citing unidentified sources. Then, there were congratulatory messages posted on TB12sports' (Brady's company) Twitter account, as well as the NFL's. However, the tweet on TB12sports' account was later deleted.

Don Yee, Brady's agent, said Brady is the only one to "accurately express his future," according to The AP.

And Brady's father, Tom Brady, Sr., eches that, saying his son has yet to make a firm decision.

In fact, Brady has reportedly not told coach Bruce Arians of his retirement plans. Arians even texted Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer: "No, he hasn't."

Despite all of these rumors and speculation, fans and other NFL players expressed their gratitude for the 44-year-old quarterback across social media:

So, as far as Brady's retirement goes, we will just have to wait and see.
