Restaurant Tours is back with a new episode! And this time around, our resident restaurateur, Larry Herz, dives into some good ol' fashioned BBQ at Owlbear Barbecue in RiNo.

This new "no-frills" BBQ joint is in the trendy RiNo neighborhood of Denver, and man, are the folks there not messing around!

Owlbear Barbecue prides itself in only serving the best meat around (all meat comes from animals that were raised without the use of growth hormones or antibiotics), before seasoning and cooking it all to perfection. All you have to do is order at the counter, then the meat is weighed and smoked—that's it! And with BBQ like this, it's no surprise that Owlbear has made quite a name for itself, so expect the lines to be fairly long if you stop by on your lunch break. Our advice? Get there as early as you can, and keep in mind that Owlbear only remains open until they run out of food.

Insider Tip: Owlbear's mac 'n' cheese is exceptional, as is the pork belly. Plus, it’s Austin-style BBQ and only one kind of sauce is offered (which, honestly, isn't even necessary—the meat is that good!).
