The wait is almost over! Jollibee fans, rejoice!

Looking for a fun new fast food? Fried chicken lovers in Northern Virginia will have another contender on June 15 as Jollibee opens its Alexandria location (4809 Beauregard Street in Alexandria, VA). Perched on the corner of Little River Turnpike and Beauregard Street, it's in the big plaza where Tower Records used to be.

If you have never tried it before, Jollibee's signature chicken is fried and served with gravy for dipping. They are also known for their sides, though, like strangely sweet spaghetti and bright purple ube (sweet potato) pies. They put a Filipino flare on most of their dishes, including gravy-drenched burger patties, so expect something a little different if you try them out.

Grand openings around the world are marked with long lines and tons of hype. Don't expect a quick visit if you go on opening day! Parking in that particular plaza is notoriously tight, so you may want to find a spot in the parking garage at the back of the plaza and walk over.

Will you be checking out the new Jollibee in Alexandria on opening day, or will you let things cool down a bit first? What are some of your favorite Jollibee dishes?
