Grab a mimosa and get to brunching at these Old Town Alexandria restaurants.

From the waterfront to the cobblestone streets and beyond, there's something for everyone in this brunch roundup! Though some may seem heavy on the seafood, these restaurants all have a wide variety of brunch fare on offer. Be sure to check out their menus online before making a reservation. Yes, you WILL need a reservation for brunch in Old Town – it's practically a sport here, and prime timeslots get booked up quickly.

Blackwall Hitch

Address: 5 Cameron Street | Alexandria, VA

This is where you go with a mixed crowd or someone who just loves to try different things – the all-you-can-eat brunch at Blackwall Hitch has everything you could ever want. Hit the omelet station and choose from a variety of gourmet fillings like crabmeat, shrimp, and veggies. The carving station will have two options, and the waffle station will provide the perfect base for their savory fried chicken. The seafood station features local and regional oysters, shrimp and smoked salmon (with fresh bagels, of course!). 

The hot food buffet has a decidedly Southern flair with its greens, grits, bacon and eggs, biscuits, and the aforementioned fried chicken. There is salad for the light eaters, and dessert can be doughnuts, mini sweets, or fresh fruit. Another great thing about brunch here is the riverfront view and the live music when they have it. 

Vola's Dockside Grill

Address: 101 North Union Street | Alexandria, VA

Craft cocktails and seafood are why you want to go to Vola's for brunch. That, and their prime view of the marina. If you're into people-watching, this is definitely a must-try spot. Signature dishes include their shrimp and grits, fresh oysters, and crabcake eggs benny. There's plenty on the menu for more traditional brunch as well, like the shareable monkey bread or French toast with spiced syrup. Don't forget to add a mimosa or bloody mary for a guaranteed good time.

Southside 815

Address: 815 South Washington Street | Alexandria, VA

It's all Southern, all the time, at Southside 815. Being located away from the main King Street drag makes this Old Town eatery easier to get to, and parking is a breeze. Their chicken and waffles are smothered with country gravy – yum! Another standout dish is their Bananas Foster French Toast, which is served with a rich cream and fresh slices of banana. Don't even think about leaving without trying one of their housemade desserts like pineapple upside-down cake with ice cream.

Hank's Oyster Bar

Address: 1026 King Street | Alexandria, VA

Sometimes you just want a big tray of oysters and a glass of wine for brunch. You can get that and more at Hank's, including an impeccably fried oyster po'boy and garlic steamed mussels. Once you have it, you'll be craving their mac and cheese, so consider yourself warned.

Parking can be challenging on this side of town, so pack your patience or plan on getting there a little early.
