Yara's Shrimp Boil

As you know, the Iron-born do not sow. I'm convinced that they're all fit fighters because they eat a diet high in fresh seafood and plundered vegetables.

Ingredients to feed 3-4

Shrimp boil seasoning or Old Bay seasoning
1 lb. new potatoes or larger potatoes cut into quarters
2 lbs. fresh shrimp (I used de-veined, shell-on shrimp)
1 dozen clams (optional)
melted butter

Bring 8 cups of water and about 2 T. of shrimp boil seasoning or Old Bay to a rolling boil. Add the potatoes and cook for 15 minutes. Add the shrimp and cook for TWO MINUTES – seriously, don't overcook the shrimp. Remove from the heat and serve with melted butter and extra Old Bay.

I like my shrimp boil with some roasted clams or oysters, so all you have to do is get a bunch of fresh clams (the ones in the picture are mahogany clams). Give them a good rinse in cool water and discard any that are broken or open. Put them in a roasting pan and stick them in a 400 degree oven until they open. It should take between 8 and 12 minutes depending on the size of your clams.

**If you wanted to add additional vegetables, corn on the cob should go in after the potatoes have been boiling for 10 minutes, and broccoli florets can go in when the shrimp does.

Hot Pie's Wolf Bread

I've been wanting to do this one for a while and had to think long and hard about what would be the best recipe to use. Hubs has been bugging me to name it "Game of Scones" and make it a classic cream scone recipe, but I think Hot Pie would have loved a Cheddar Bay Biscuit.

Before y'all get on me about how this looks more like a dog, I'd just like to remind you of the original:

Ingredients (makes the equivalent of 10 biscuits)

1 box Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
water
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 egg white, lightly beaten with 1 T. water

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Combine the boxed mix with just under the 3/4 cup of water it calls for and add in your shredded cheese. On a foil-lined cookie sheet, shape the dough into a rectangle and sculpt it with a butter knife into a roughly canine shape.

You can cut the dough and reattach it to make the legs and tail – it will all bake together. Use the flat of the knife to go over your edges and seams to make sure it's all one piece. Bake according to the package instructions, brushing with the egg white wash about halfway through. Serve with butter on the side – these biscuits are dense!
