Plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken will be available at KFC locations nationwide.

Known for its chicken (obviously!), Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has recently announced that it's expanding its menus by offering customers a new, plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken option. Beyond Fried Chicken will be available at locations nationwide.

In partnership with vegan brand Beyond Meat, KFC aims to replicate its famous fried chicken but without animal products.

“We couldn’t be prouder to partner with KFC to offer a best-in-class product that not only delivers the delicious experience consumers expect from this iconic chain, but also provides the added benefits of plant-based meat,” Ethan Brown, Founder and CEO of Beyond Meat, said in a statement. “We are truly thrilled to make it available to consumers nationwide.”

According to reports, this has been something that's been in the works for a while. In fact, it was tested at an Atlanta location back in 2019—and the plant-based chicken sold out within just a few hours.

It has since been added to menus across the country and will now see a wider reach in 2022.

The new vegan and plant-based option will be available as KFC's first-ever plant-based combo meal, which comes with secret recipe fries and a medium drink. You can also order just the Beyond Fried Chicken nuggets in 6- or 12-piece orders with any of KFC's dipping sauces.

Beyond Fried Chicken hits KFC locations nationwide on January 10.

In addition, actress, producer, and creator Liza Koshy has been named spokesperson for the "Kentucky Fried Miracle."
