The cheap fries are part of a promotion for the “Secret Recipe Fries.”

If you have a fast-food craving and are in the vicinity of a KFC on Monday, July 13, you can get an order of fries for just 30 cents. In celebration of National French Fry Day, Kentucky Fried Chicken is celebrating its new seasoned fries by selling the new addition for just 30 cents with any purchase. The new menu item was developed by sampling and testing formulas from all over the world.

The winning recipe ended up coming from Down Under—Australia. The fries are thick-cut, batter-dipped, and flavored with a secret spice that complements the Colonel’s fried chicken.

"We searched the world far and wide for the best fries to bring to our U.S. menu, and we found the craveable Secret Recipe seasoning from KFC Australia was the perfect fit to go with our world famous fried chicken," said Andrea Zahumensky, chief marketing officer, KFC U.S. "Tasting is believing, and fans are finding these are the fries they didn't know they were missing. And there's no better time to try them for yourself than on National French Fry Day.”

The new seasoned fries will reface the old potato wedges on the KFC menu. Mashed potato and gravy is still available, of course. After you try them, be sure to leave your review on social media and you might get something special. KFC gave @Ethan_Anderton free fries for a year after he left this simple review on Twitter: "new contender for best fast food fries.”

The National Fry Day price is a throwback to the price of fries in 1970 and is available at participating KFC restaurants. Outside of the promotion, the new fries start at $2.29.
