The speculation is over, Dunkaroos are returning to a store near you!

If you grew up in the '90s, you may have had Dunkaroos in your lunchbox. The General Mills snack food consisted of little graham cookies you could “dunk” into vanilla icing. The kangaroo-themed product was discontinued in 2012 and has become a cult classic in the snack food world. Fans of Dunkaroos having been begging for its return and were given a ray of hope last month when a Dunkaroos account appeared on Instagram.

On Feb. 3, 2020, the company finally made it official—Dunkaroos will return to stores this summer.

General Mills released an image of the new Dunkaroos packaging and said it will the return with vanilla cookies and vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles. Originally, it was just graham cookies with vanilla or chocolate icing. Later on, the company added peanut butter, chocolate chip, cinnamon, and the very popular vanilla with rainbow sprinkles.

We know there’s a lot of love for Dunkaroos, and fans everywhere have been asking for it. We’re excited to help ‘90s kids relive all the best parts of childhood.”

Executives at General Mills said celebrity fans Chrissy Teigen and Kim Kardashian helped nudge them into rereleasing Dunkaroos. The hope is '90s kids can enjoy Dunkaroos and introduce them to their own kids.
