A classic margarita or an upscale craft cocktail, each served in a fun plastic drink pouch.

As restaurants and bars adjust to life during a pandemic, many have introduced some interesting food and drink options. One such product is the booze pouch, a grown-up version of the Capri Sun pouches from our childhoods.

We’ve put together a list of places around Maryland where you can try one of these cocktail pouches. Just remember: As with all bars and restaurants, you must purchase food with your adult beverages.

Looney’s Pub

Looney’s Pub has five locations around Maryland, with each restaurant operating on different days and times. The location in Maple Lawn has been open Thursday through Sunday and has a variety of cocktails to-go, including two different boozy pouches. The Absolut Juice Bag is made with Absolut brand Vodka and comes in blueberry lemonade or strawberry lemonade for just $7. These are exclusive to the Maple Lawn location, but you can get boozy snowballs and popsicles at Canton, Bel Air, Perry Hall, and College Park.

This casual Greek eatery has several locations around the DMV and has stepped up its takeout options during the pandemic. In addition to regular menu items, diners can order family meals and craft cocktail drink pouches. Each pouch is 16 ounces or enough for three drinks. Choose from Sangria, old fashioned, mojito, margaritas, Moscow mule, and Aperol Spritz, starting at $20 each. On Tuesdays, grab any two for $40. Booze pouches can only be picked up (no delivery) unless you live in D.C.

Brickside Food & Drink

If you could name one restaurant that has really embraced the booze pouch, it’s Brickside. Located in Bethesda, Brickside is an American bar and restaurant serving up classics like wings, burgers, and flatbreads. For $10, Brickside can put one of its basic cocktails in a pouch, effectively creating an adult Capri-Sun. But on certain days, lucky patrons can get one of two “Fauci” Pouchy craft cocktails inspired by Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Check the Brickside Facebook page for availability.
