Don't get caught with a camp-free summer. The Arlington County Parks and Recreation Department has got you covered, but act fast!

Registration for Summer 2019 starts on February 13, so take a look at the camp catalog today. There are dozens of options at all different price points and age groups.

Here are some examples of the types of camps available:

Tiny Chefs: Cooking Around the World will have your kids learning how to make Italian, Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican and French dishes while practicing various cooking techniques. This week-long camp costs $399 and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Creative Arts Camp will teach your children all about growing their talents and making their own art. This popular two-week camp features activities such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, bookmaking, mask-making, and multi-cultural arts. The cost is $520, and this camp runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily with an extended care option until 6 p.m.

AlphaBest: Adventures in Engineering challenges students to recycle items into art, household items, and toy cars. They can then compete in a Recycled Racer Rally. Developed by the Boston Museum of Science, this workshop emphasizes the engineering design process throughout the activities, encouraging creative-problem-solving and innovation. This popular week-long camp runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily with optional before- and after-care, and costs $300.

How to Register

  • Register online starting at 7 a.m. on February 13.
  • Walk-in registration takes place at the main registration office at 3700 S. Four Mile Run Drive in Arlington and begins at 8 a.m. on February 15.
