Keep an eye out for weekend closures of the I-95 Express Lanes through Woodbridge!

Your weekend travel plans may get a bit complicated if you take the I-95 Express Lanes through Woodbridge, VA. A Dominion Energy project is the source of these changes, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

When Will This Happen?

The Express Lane closures will occur on weekend mornings, from sunrise to 10 a.m., from September 29 through November 4. Specific dates affected: Sept. 29-30, Oct. 13-14, Oct. 20-21, Oct. 27-28, and Nov. 3-4.

Where Will This Happen?

The Express Lanes will be closed between Exit 152 (to 234) and Exit 156 (to Dale Blvd.), and closures will begin south of Exit 158 (to Prince William Parkway).

On Saturdays, Express Lane traffic will be running southbound, and drivers must exit at the ramp for Dale City/Rippon Landing.

On Sundays, Express Lane traffic will be running northbound and drivers can enter at Opitz Blvd.

Though the I-95 main lanes will not be closed for this utility work, expect delays through the Woodbridge exits. VDOT also anticipates additional traffic on Rt. 1 as a result of the Express Lane closures. Flagmen will be posted to direct drivers at closure points, and overhead signage along the I-95 main lanes will be updated as well.
