Your "Elf on the Shelf" can live his best life in a Las Vegas casino this Christmas.

We may be in the middle of summer, but a Las Vegas casino is already thinking ahead to Christmas. The Silverton Casino is asking parents to retire their "Elf on the Shelf" figurines so they can serve as decorations in the casino’s annual holiday pop-up bar.

Parents who mail in an elf will receive a retirement certificate, a voucher for a free drink, and a toy donated in their name to a local charity. For their generosity, parents will also receive the biggest gift: not having to spend December coming up with Elf on the Shelf ideas.

And you don’t have to live in Las Vegas to retire your elf. The casino has even created a website that will deliver notes from the elf to children about why he is retiring plus follow-up letters from his new life in Vegas. So, how do you send your elf to Vegas? We're glad you asked!

To send your elf into retirement, box him and send him to:

Official Shelf Elf Retirement HQ
Silverton Casino
3333 Blue Diamond Rd.
Las Vegas, NV  89139

Be sure to include the elf’s name, hometown, and address for the drink voucher. Questions can be directed to [email protected].

The Bad Elf Pop-Up holiday bar is an annual tradition at the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas and features holiday lights, Christmas trees, decor, and special cocktail concoctions.

The Elf on the Shelf tradition stems from a 2005 children’s book about an elf that was sent to watch children and report back to Santa. The book set with an accompaniment elf has sold more than 11 million copies. The elf is kept on a shelf in December leading up to Christmas and each morning children get excited to “discover” what kind of mischief the elf got into while they were sleeping.
