Members of the White House and official visitors are testing positive for COVID-19.

This article was updated at 11 a.m. MST on Tuesday, October 6.

News outlets have been covering this developing story since President Trump's news broke on October 2.

Here is a list of the confirmed positive cases of this highly infectious disease, reported to date:

  • President Donald Trump
  • Melania Trump: First Lady of the United States
  • Hope Hicks: Senior Advisor to President Trump
  • KellyAnne Conway: Former Senior Advisor to President Trump
  • Senator Mike Lee of Utah
  • Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina
  • Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin
  • Ronna McDaniel: Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee
  • Reverend John Jenkins: President of Notre Dame University
  • Chris Christie: Former Governor of New Jersey
  • Bill Stepien: Campaign Manager for President Trump
  • Nicholas Luna: personal aide for President Trump
  • Kayleigh McEnany: White House press secretary
  • Chad Gilmartin: White House principal assistant press secretary
  • Karoline Leavitt: White House assistant press secretary
  • Unnamed military aide/Trump valet

Tracers are focusing on four recent events as they communicate with those who may have come in contact these people: the ceremony announcing the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett in the White House Rose Garden, a Trump campaign fundraiser in New Jersey, the debate preparation sessions, and the first presidential debate.

As with any contact tracing for COVID-19, testing is being recommended for anyone potentially exposed to the disease. It may take up to 14 days for a positive test result to present itself.

It is important to note that, because this is a highly contagious virus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend wearing a face covering in public and social distancing when possible. Maintain at least six feet from people outside of your immediate household and practice vigilant hand hygiene. When you can't wash your hands with soap and water, apply topical hand sanitizer.
