The current geopolitical developments have spurred a spike in the activity on the Selective Service System (SSS) website as people seek answers about their registration.
Increased traffic is cited as the reason why the Selective Service System (SSS) website crashed late last week. Established as an independent agency of the federal government, the mission of the of the SSS is:
To register men and maintain a system that, when authorized by the President and Congress, rapidly provides personnel in a fair and equitable manner while managing an alternative service program for conscientious objectors.
An official statement went out via Twitter to help address the inquiries that were flooding the agency's website on Friday.

The latest update is that they are working on getting their site up and running efficiently. Though slowly, the website does load, as of the time of publication. You may have to try a few times if you are experiencing a lag or timeout.
