If you use dry shampoo, you might want to check your bathroom for these recalled products.

Proctor Gamble has issued a voluntary recall for several brands of aerosol dry shampoos and conditioning mists. The products are being recalled because they may contain a cancer-causing chemical called benzene.

The brands impacted by the recall include Pantene, Herbal Essences, Aussie, Old Spice, Waterless, and Hair Food. The company isn’t clear on how the discovery was made, but they are offering refunds to consumers for both current and discontinued products.

Benzene is a chemical that can cause cancers of the blood, bone marrow, leukemia, and other types of blood disorders. Proctor and Gamble said the amounts found in the products would not be expected to cause adverse effects, but issued the recall out of an abundance of caution. So far, there have been no reports of illness or injury reported in relation to the recalled products.
