Going to the DMV just got a little easier!

Forget standing in that mind-numbing line the next time you visit the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Anyone with an online appointment can now scan a QR code to check in and head straight to the waiting room chairs.

In a press release dated April 12, 2022, Acting DMV Commissioner Linda Ford had this to say:

"Given the popularity of appointment opportunities, we are pleased to make the process even more efficient for customers who can plan. Your transaction will go even more quickly if you complete your forms beforehand. Please visit our website to find out which application you need to fill out ahead of time and bring to your appointment."

The next time you need to visit the DMV in person, be sure to start by making an appointment online. When you arrive at the facility, look for the QR scan code posted in the lobby for your virtual check-in, and provide your basic information. Have a seat, and that's it! The goal of this statewide overhaul is to shorten wait times and increase overall customer satisfaction rates.

For more information about the new process, or how to make an appointment with the DMV, visit their official website. Did you know that over 50 services, including registration renewal and requesting DMV documents, can be done online? Check the list before you make that appointment!
