"These visitors did the right thing: stopped, kept their distance, and the bears left the area."

Bears have been very active throughout the state of Colorado, with many sightings (and encounters) occurring more frequently. One visitor, Aubrey Chambers, came across a remarkable sight whilst on a trail in Jefferson County. Chambers filmed an adult black bear and its three cubs walking along the trail on Sunday.

You can see the black bear family in the video below:

According to Ranger Alicia, Chambers did the right thing and kept her distance.

"This is a good time to remind everyone who lives in bear country that they need to be vigilant and responsible," Colorado Parks and Wildlife said. "Proper management of trash and recycling is the first step to keeping bears away from neighborhoods. Locking doors and windows and keeping cars locked is also important."
