Help feed local children by donating to the Baltimore Hunger Project this month. They're collecting peanut butter and jelly for their comforting weekend food packs!

Did you know that thousands of Baltimore children depend on free school lunches for their meals every day? The Baltimore Hunger Project seeks to make life a little easier for them by providing nutritious, filling weekend food packs to tide them over.

For the entire month of February, they are asking for special donations of peanut butter and jelly. Deliver your donations to the organization's main office at 117 Old Padonia Road, Suite E in Cockeysville, Maryland, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. These supplies will go directly to the children and families who need them the most.

About the Organization

The Baltimore Hunger Project is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to feed the children of Baltimore with their weekend food packages. Their mission statement is:

Baltimore Hunger Project is dedicated to eliminating the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger by feeding bodies and minds. We are bridging the gap between Friday and Monday by consistently providing weekend food packages to children identified as food insecure, in a compassionate and dignified manner. We raise awareness about the effects of hunger by establishing partnerships with community members, other organizations, and decision makers.

You can help with their efforts by volunteering your time. This is a wonderful opportunity for students, families, and civic groups alike to give back to the community in a meaningful way. You will work to create weekend food packs that will battle hunger, one child at a time.

You can also make financial donations online if you can't help out in person. A single $25 donation can provide food security to a student for a whole month!
