The Colorado lake town was one of 18 included on TripAdvisor's list.

Though TripAdvisor doesn't specify a specific order for the lake town destinations (Grand Lake was the 14th lake listed, in case you were curious), it's still an honor to have a Colorado destination selected as one of the best in North America. So if you're looking for a relaxing lake retreat, Grand Lake should fit the bill.

Here's what TripAdvisor had to say about Colorado's Grand Lake:

"For those seeking a peaceful lake retreat, the tiny town of Grand Lake will do the trick. Spend a day relaxing at The Beach at Grand Lake or head out on the water for a stand up paddleboard excursion with Rocky Mountain SUP. Consider joining a Headwaters Marina Scenic Lake Tour for a guided kayak trip around the lake."

Other lake towns on the list included South Lake Tahoe (CA), Niagara-on-the-Lake (Ontario), and Lake Geneva (WI).

"The best lake towns aren’t just about relaxation — that’s why we’re also featuring locales with plenty of adventure, both on the water and on land," wrote TripAdvisor, which regularly publishes its lists of top resorts, attractions, and more.
