Authorities are searching for a man and a woman who killed a dog over the weekend.

According to the Lakewood Police Department (LPD), two suspects are wanted after shooting and killing a dog, which is being described as a female pit bull mix, on Saturday around 7 a.m. The shooting occurred at the intersection of West 12th Ave. and Teller St.

Officers reportedly spoke with witnesses, who said that they saw one male suspect holding the dog down while his female companion shot it.

The female suspect, who was wearing a black, long-sleeved shirt and jeans, has been described as white or Hispanic with blonde hair; the male suspect was wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and white shoes and has been described as white or Hispanic with dark hair. The pair could be seen in a silver Chrysler 300.
