The annual convention has been officially renamed as FAN EXPO Denver.

Attention cosplayers and comic book nerds, Denver Pop Culture Con could potentially return this year after being canceled for its 2020 event! But it's gonna look different when it eventually does, for the better. And that's because officials have recently announced that the annual convention has been purchased by FAN EXPO HQ, the largest comic con producer in North America.

According to the announcement, this means there will be "even more world-class talent" and expanded "experiences and access for all ages."

Oh, and the convention will have a new name. Previously, the convention was named Denver Comic Con when it first hit the scene back in 2012, then, in 2018, it got changed to Denver Pop Culture Con. And now, it'll be known as FAN EXPO Denver.

"FAN EXPO Denver will be everything you've come to know and love from Denver Pop Culture Con: same location and same awesome celebration of fandom, only now with even more to see and do," writes Adam Kullberg, Interim Executive Director for Pop Culture Classroom, in a statement.

FAN EXPO Denver will debut in 2022, but event organizers are looking to potentially bring it back in late 2021, if possible.

"While the past year has been rough, we can't wait to embark on this new adventure and meet again soon with even more of a reason to celebrate."

Personally, I can't wait to attend a comic convention again (and wear all of my cosplays!). I've been attending the one here in Denver since 2015 and have missed it terribly, so it's very exciting to hear this news.
