Heading down to enjoy the reopening of D.C. this weekend? A big event on Memorial Day weekend is bringing parking restrictions and street closures around the downtown area. Rolling to Remember will hold its annual event to support America’s veterans on Friday, May 28, 2021, through May 31, 2021, at different locations around the city. The main event, a motorcycle ride, and rally will be held at the RFK Stadium on Sunday, May 30. To facilitate movement for this event, D.C. police will be closing several roads and restricting parking in certain areas.

If you live in the city or planning on driving in, you will not be able to park on these streets from 12:01 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2021:

  • Constitution Avenue from 23rd Street to 3rd Street, NW
  • Pennsylvania Avenue from Constitution Avenue to 3rd Street, NW
  • 3rd Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • Independence Avenue from 3rd Street to 14th Street, SW
  • 6th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW
  • 7th Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • 14th Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to D Street, SW

In preparation for the Rolling Thunder assembly on Sunday, these streets will be closed between 4 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 30.

  • Eastbound Independence Avenue from 19th Street, SE to the entrance to RFK Lot 8
  • East Capitol Street from 19th Street, SE to 22nd Street, SE
  • 22nd Street from C Street, SE to Independence Avenue, SE
  • Southeast Boulevard from Barney Circle, SE to 11th Street, SE

Several streets and ramps will also be closed for the demonstration on Sunday, May 30, 2021, from 11:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

  • No traffic will be allowed to travel westbound on I-695 from I-295. The eastbound lanes will remain open.
  • The ramp to westbound I-695 at 11th Street and K Street, SE will be closed.
  • The ramp to westbound I-695 at 3rd Street and Virginia Avenue, SE will be closed.
  • The ramp from northbound South Capitol Street will be closed to westbound I-395.
  • The ramp from southbound 3rd Street Tunnel will be closed to westbound I-395.
