From sunny days to gorgeous mountain views, Colorado Springs is unsurprisingly desirable to many.

It's not news to us, but Colorado Springs is a desirable city. A study from Cinch Home Services named our beloved city the second most desirable place to move to in the United States in 2021, just falling short of the number one spot behind Austin, Texas.

The main reasons Colorado Springs outshined large cities like New York, San Francisco, and even Denver? According to the survey, the Springs has a lower crime rate, beautiful climate, and good schools. And you can't beat the access to the outdoors.

Looking at these factors, it's no wonder Colorado Springs is top of mind when thinking of your dream city. And especially with the rise in remote work situations, more people can make their dreams a reality and move to their desired location.

While it's great news to hear, local leaders cited a few challenges that will come along with new residents. The number one challenge is the increase in the cost of living.

It's no secret Colorado Springs' cost of living is spiking, and it isn't recent. In 2018, experts found that the average rental in Colorado Springs was almost the same price as similar units in Denver.

Colorado Springs housing officials hope the rise in costs will trigger a surge in salaries so people who want to live in the city and enjoy its amenities can.

The Cinch Home Services survey also reported the top five desirable spots for three different generations. Millennials and Generation X didn't have any Colorado cities on their top five list. But Baby Boomers named Colorado Springs as their top place to move above Jacksonville, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Dallas, Texas.
