Colorado ranked third overall, per the report.

Colorado is typically among the top lists for the many attractions and amenities we have to offer, including but not limited to ski resorts, brews, mountain views, and music venues. However, we also rank for some not-so-impressive feats ... most recently, we, as a state, ranked third for the worst drivers in the entire country.

According to Quote Wizard by lendingtree, four factors were used to determine which states came out on top and which states fell short when it comes to overall driver quality—accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs, and citations (i.e., running a red light, using a cell phone while driving, etc.).

Wyoming came in at No. 1 for the worst drivers, followed by Virginia and then Colorado. West Virginia, according to the report, has the best drivers in the country.
