The mural will stretch along Broadway between Colfax Avenue and 14th Avenue.
The City of Denver has closed traffic lanes along Broadway so that local artists can come together to paint a "Black Lives Matter" street mural near the Colorado Capitol.
Designed by Adri Norris, with the help of Pat Milbery, the two artists are "also calling on local Denver creatives, in particular black, indigenous and artists of color, as well as community volunteers to come and be a part of the creative process," according to a news release from the city.
Traffic lanes along Broadway from 13th Avenue to 17th Avenue have been closed since 6:30 p.m. on June 11 and will last through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 12.
Commuters are encouraged to find alternate routes. However, the area will remain to "foot traffic for those taking part in nearby demonstrations."

Artists throughout the country have been painting murals in support of "Black Lives Matter," including a large piece painted in Washington, D.C., that can be seen from space.
