The race track had been issued a temporary restraining order after violating social distancing orders for its Fourth of July event.
On Wednesday, Bandimere Speedway announced that it has received approval from Jefferson County Public Health to reopen and allow races to resume.
Bandimere and Jeffco Public Health were at odds after the track hosted its annual Fourth of July fireworks show to large crowds, even though a public health order restricted gatherings over 175 people. After that, Bandimere was issued a temporary restraining order which stated that it must refrain "from hosting any gathering in excess of 175 people; hosting any event that violates social distancing orders; and hosting any event that serves food in violation of requirements for restaurants."
According to reports, the approved reopening plan for Bandimere includes:
- Encouraging online purchases of tech cards/crew passes before events.
- Pit spaces are on a first-come, first-served basis; saving pit spots is not allowed.
- Be courteous to those around you, refrain from entering another participant pit space.
- Racers are required to keep their pit spot to a 20-foot wide space.
- Pit areas will be designated by “Areas.”
- Each area will be limited to 150 racers/crew members.
- Coned off pit areas need to stay closed, do not pit in those areas.
- We encourage everyone to stay in the pit area or activity area.
- Always follow all local and state requirements regarding use of masks and social distancing.
- If you leave your pit area, or have someone who is not in your immediate family, have your mask on.
