Visitors will be able to shop the open-air market beginning June 3.

The Baltimore Farmers' Market has announced details for its return this summer. The popular farmers' market is held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium and offers fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, dairy, and other homegrown staples. Farmers' markets have been named essential businesses, and this market specifically has been called on by the Maryland Department of Agriculture to help make sure the people of Baltimore have a place to find fresh food.

The farmers’ market will open beginning on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and return every Wednesday until Oct. 28. Patrons will be asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. The market will also be taking more precautions to protect customers by providing handwashing stations and hand sanitizer for employees and frequently cleaning high touch areas.

Some of the farms participating in the Baltimore Farmers' Market include Albright Farms, Hills Forest Fruit Farm, Jones Organic Dairy and Produce Farm, and Warns Produce. Customers will be reminded to wash fruits and vegetables after they get home. The Baltimore Farmers' Market is one of the few that will be allowing customers to walk through the market. Many farmers' markets around the state have opted for drive-through or curbside pickup through online ordering.

Free parking will be available at the main gate of the fairgrounds, on the north side of the digital sign. Once again, market vendors will be accepting the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, FMNP, WIC Fruit & Vegetable, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP. The fairgrounds will also be hosting flower sales and blood drives by the American Red Cross. Visit the fairgrounds website for times and dates.
