Get ready! The Rounds is making its rounds to Miami!

Eco-friendly delivery service The Rounds is expanding to Miami, Florida. Created by Alexander Torrey and Byungwoo Ko, The Rounds launched in Philadelphia in 2019 and has since expanded to Washington, D.C. And now, its sights are set on the East Coast with a Miami expansion!

Delivery service in Miami will begin on February 28, 2022. The Rounds' goal in making its service available to residents in Miami is to "reduce plastics," as well as keep "Miami’s ocean, rivers, bays, and waterways clean," according to the press release.

The Rounds is also launching with a curated list of local artisans and purveyors, just for Miami residents.

Initially, the Miami launch will extend to the following cities: Miami, Brickell, Downtown, Edgewater, and Wynwood. There are plans to further expand into other zip codes in the near future.

The Rounds is a zero-waste service that offers customers delivery and refills of everyday items, from personal care (like soap or toilet paper) to baby care (diapers and wipes).

Everything is delivered in reusable containers and bags. Once you're done, all you have to do is leave your empties on your doorstep and The Rounds will swap them out for new ones on your designated refill day!

Here's how The Rounds works:

  1. Personalize your stuff
  2. Set it and forget it
    • Autopilot schedules refill your stock at a cadence that makes sense.
  3. Check your welcome mat
    • "Rounders" deliver your refill bundle using their fleet of e-bikes.
    • They will also pick up any empty containers so nothing goes to waste.

Co-founders Torrey and Ko created The Rounds that would "address the convenience consumers enjoy when they order household items from Amazon, but without all of the packaging."

Because of this service, it's estimated that an average customer could save anywhere from 40–50 pounds of packaging waste per year!
