"We respect the court's ruling and will comply," writes Starbucks COO John Culver.

Earlier this month, Starbucks made an announcement that it's requiring its employees to be fully vaccinated or get tested weekly. However, that policy has since been reversed.

According to a memo sent to employees on Tuesday, Starbucks Chief Operating Officer John Culver wrote that the company will be complying with the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling. In a 6-3 vote, the court rejected the Biden administration's plan to require vaccines or regular COVID testing at companies with more than 100 employees.

"We respect the court’s ruling and will comply," wrote Culver in the memo.

On January 3, Starbucks had made the announcement of the vaccine mandate, which would have required all employees to be vaccinated by February 9 or they must undergo weekly COVID testing.

When the policy was first revealed, Culver initially said, "My responsibility, and that of every leader, is to do whatever we can to help keep you safe and create the safest work environment possible."
