Pay a monthly fee, get unlimited manicures and pedicures!

A new nail salon concept is coming to Maryland. GLOSSLAB, a New York-based nail salon, opened its first location in Bethesda this past Friday, April 8.

The salon is membership-based and allows customers to get unlimited manicures, pedicures, and polish changes for a flat monthly fee. It touts a touchless, waterless process that allows customers to check in and pay without lifting a finger.

Three additional salons are slated to open later this year in Georgetown, Dupont Circle, and Union Market.

GLOSSLAB was created by Rachel Apfel Glass in the Flatiron district of New York City. A busy, working mom, she was frustrated with her inability to fit a manicure and pedicure into her schedule. She envisioned a new type of salon that would provide an experience that was hygienic, efficient, and membership-based. GLOSSLAB customers can book online instead of signing in and waiting at traditional nail salons. Nails are treated with long-last polishes and gel products that are both fashionable and non-toxic.

Guests can get regular or gel manicures and pedicures or just stop in for a polish change. Touch-ups, gel removals, and other nail-related services are also available.

The cost for a monthly membership varies by location buts ends up being around the price of a spa pedicure and manicure. Individual services without a membership are also available to those who don’t want the monthly service. Members can pause or cancel their membership if they need to.

Everything is contactless from booking to payment, except for the actual service. GLOSSLAB automatically adds a tip each time you get a service so you don’t have to mess up your nails searching through your bag.

The new GLOSSLAB salon is located at 4926 Elm St., just steps from Bethesda Row.
