As a gesture of appreciation for all of their hard work, Dollar General is offering a 10 percent discount to activated National Guardsmen, medical workers, and first responders until April 30.

National discount store Dollar General is known for its low prices and wide range of products like groceries, housewares, and cleaning products. With over 15,000 locations, it is a major retail presence all across the country. In a press release about the new 10 percent discount it's offering to medical workers and first responders, the CEO had this to say:

“At Dollar General, we are deeply appreciative for the ongoing and brave work that our medical professionals, first responder communities and National Guard activated continue to perform during these unprecedented times. To demonstrate our heartfelt gratitude for these individuals’ tireless service to their communities, we are proud to help support them with this discount. On behalf of the entire Dollar General family, we would like to thank all of the physicians, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, police officers, fire fighters, Guardsmen and other health care and front-line professionals working to support and care for our neighbors and communities.” — Todd Vasos, Chief Executive Officer of Dollar General

The offer extends to a variety of essential personnel, including health care workers taking care of patients and ancillary staff. In order to take advantage of the discount, shoppers just need to show a valid military or work ID. That's it!
